For this project, I designed packaging for a line of guitar picks based on the character Marty McFly from the film series “Back to the Future.” Marty is a typical 1980s teenager with a love for music and adventure. When he accidentally travels through time, he embarks on thrilling adventures across different decades. The inspiration for this product line came from Marty’s passion for music, especially rock ‘n’ roll, which is reflected in his guitar skills and admiration of iconic musicians throughout the film series. Timeless Riffs’ classic guitar picks are designed to last across the timelines and will ensure your sound is timeless.
Each guitar pick and corresponding package is based on an era that Marty McFly travels to: 1955, 1985, and 2015. Taking inspiration from the mid-century modern, 80s retro, and futurism design styles, an icon and color were chosen to represent each era. I handmade each acrylic guitar pick, cutting and engraving them using a Glowforge. Additionally, I printed and meticulously assembled the packages for a polished final presentation.
